Product Safety
Versión en español en revisión legal
Version 3.0, 30 September 2026.
This page carries the product safety information required by Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety, and the equivalent duties in the other markets we serve. The same details also appear on every product page, which is where the law wants them and where you will actually be standing when you need them.
Who is responsible for the products we sell
The manufacturer
BYD Company Limited
byd.com
Contact address in the European Union:
BYD Europe B.V.

Where a part is made by an independent manufacturer rather than by the vehicle manufacturer, the manufacturer's details for that part are shown on its own product page.
The responsible person in the European Union

You may contact the responsible person in English, German or Spanish about the safety of any product we supply, and so may a market surveillance authority.

How to report a safety problem
Email contact@evparto.com with "SAFETY" in the subject line. Tell us the OE number, the vehicle, what happened, and whether anyone was hurt. Photographs help. We acknowledge a safety report within 24 hours, usually sooner.
You do not need to have bought the part from us to report something. If you believe a part we list is unsafe, we want to know.
Where a product we have supplied presents a risk, we are required to notify the authorities through the EU Safety Business Gateway and to inform affected customers. We will do that, and we will contact you directly if an order of yours is affected. We hold your order record for that reason, among others.
You may also report a dangerous product directly to the market surveillance authority in your own country. Reporting to us does not replace that route and does not affect it.
Recalls
Where a manufacturer issues a recall or a safety notice affecting a part in our catalogue, we publish it on the affected product pages and write to customers who bought it.
Vehicle recalls are issued by the vehicle manufacturer and its national importers, not by us. If you have a recall notice for your vehicle, take it to an authorised workshop. A recall repair is free of charge to you and we cannot carry it out.
Fitting parts safely
We sell parts. We do not fit them and we do not advise on whether your diagnosis of a fault is correct.
- Braking, steering, suspension, restraint and airbag components affect whether a vehicle is safe to drive. Have them fitted by someone competent. If you are working on your own vehicle, follow the manufacturer's procedure and torque figures.
- Use new fasteners and seals where the manufacturer specifies them. Stretch bolts are designed to be used once.
- Electronic parts may need coding, programming or calibration after fitting. A part that is mechanically correct can still leave a vehicle unsafe if a driver assistance system has not been recalibrated.
- High voltage systems are lethal. Anything connected to a traction battery must be worked on by a qualified high voltage technician. A traction battery is live even when the vehicle is switched off.
- Do not fit a part you are not sure about. Ask us first. We answer within 24 hours.
Lighting and type approval
Headlamps are designed to throw the beam towards the kerb, and a lamp built for driving on one side of the road is not legal or safe on the other. This is a type approval matter rather than a preference. Where a lamp is handed to a drive layout, the OE number is what tells you which one you have. See Fitment and compatibility.
Parts we cannot ship
Some parts contain a pyrotechnic charge or compressed gas and are classed as dangerous goods in air transport. That includes airbag modules, seat belt pretensioners, gas struts and pressurised accumulators.
No carrier available to us accepts them. Those parts are listed for identification and cannot be bought through the checkout. This is a transport restriction, not a judgement about the part.
If you have an old airbag module or pretensioner to dispose of, do not put it in household waste and do not post it. Your workshop or a vehicle dismantler will take it under the correct route.
Batteries
We do not sell batteries. Some parts contain a cell, for example a key or a remote unit, and we take those back free of charge. Cells must never go into household waste. See Packaging and Battery Take-back.
Traceability
Every part in our catalogue carries the manufacturer's own part number, the OE number, on its listing, on your order confirmation and on your invoice. That number is the traceability identifier for the part and it is what a manufacturer, a workshop or an authority will ask for.
Keep your order confirmation. It is your record of what was supplied, by whom, and when.
Other markets
- United Kingdom: the General Product Safety Regulations 2005 apply. Report a concern to us by the route above or to Trading Standards.
- Australia: report to the ACCC Product Safety service as well as to us.
- United States: the Consumer Product Safety Commission operates SaferProducts.gov. Vehicle equipment defects are reported to NHTSA.
- South Korea: some vehicle parts require KC certification. Where a part you have ordered is affected we tell you before we ship rather than send something that cannot clear.
- Saudi Arabia, China, India, Indonesia, Vietnam: these markets require certification or registration we may not be able to provide. See Your Rights by Country.
